Common questions

Common questions about selling and buying through Proxeno, with short answers. The linked pages carry the detail.

Selling

Does registering commit me to anything?

No. Registering does not engage us and does not list your practice anywhere. Nothing you send is published or circulated, and you choose if and when your practice is put to any buyer.

Will anyone learn my practice might sell?

Not from us. Records are de-identified until you ask to be listed: the record the matching works from carries no practice name, and nobody outside Proxeno is told your practice is on the platform until you choose to list. How this is built is on the data architecture and security page.

Do I have to be ready to sell?

No. Owners register at any time to explore their options. The two evaluations cost nothing, and a baseline built years early carries into sale preparation and shows in the price.

What are the two evaluations?

The business acuity assessment scores how the practice runs as a business, across six areas. The sale readiness assessment scores how prepared the practice is for a sale. Both are free, neither asks for your financial statements and neither is a valuation.

Who sets the price of my practice?

You do, advised by your own accountant or an independent valuer you engage. Proxeno does not value practices and does not give opinions on what a practice is worth.

How does matching work?

Every buyer on the register is scored against the criteria you set: price, staff, patients, exit. You see the shortlist and the reasoning before anyone is approached, and Proxeno approaches a buyer only with your permission.

What happens after a match?

Proxeno approaches the matched buyers you approve. NDAs and the document pack move through the platform, and the deal is handed to your advisers for due diligence and completion.

Buying

What does a buyer get?

A registered buyer records standing acquisition criteria: states, size, structure, posture. When a seller's practice fits, the buyer is scored and can be shortlisted. Registering creates no agreement and no promise that practices are sent to you, and buyers not on the register are not in the comparison.

Which side does Proxeno act for?

One party per transaction, identified in writing. Where Proxeno acts for the owner, it does not act for the buyer.

Fees

What does it cost?

A fixed fee, set before the work starts, not a percentage of the sale price. Proxeno is paid the same whatever the practice sells for. The structure is on the fees page.

How is Proxeno different from a broker?

A broker works a contact list, is paid a percentage at settlement and earns nothing from preparation. Proxeno works from the mapped market, charges a fixed fee set before the work starts, and starts with preparation. The full comparison is on one page.
